Tuscarawas Literacy Coalition Announces 2026 Scholarship Winners

The Tuscarawas County Literacy Coalition (TCLC) is proud to announce two local graduating seniors as recipients of the 2026 Tuscarawas County Literacy Scholarship, presented in memory of Keith Rathbun. Each student received a $500 scholarship in recognition of their achievements and dedication. Congratulations to this year’s recipients, Kenley Hayes and Koy Haney!

Kenley Hayes, of Newcomerstown, plans to attend The Ohio State University and major in elementary education. Kenley has been an active member of her community, participating in sports, student council, church activities, and band. In pursuing a degree in education, Kenley hopes to “instill the importance of reading and foster a love of words in the children in [her] classroom.”

Koy Haney, of Gnadenhutten, plans to attend Walsh University, where he will study biology while pursuing a pre-med track. Koy is an Eagle Scout, a football player at Indian Valley High School, and a member of the National Honor Society.
